A new report from the Fawcett Society and the IFS makes grim reading for lone parents.
It shows that they have lost most from the cuts in benefits; removal of funding for training; cuts in local services and are likely to loose out further because of the cuts in jobs in the Public Sector.
They reinforce our own findings that the growing number of women on JSA is very much related to the Lone Parents who are moving over from IS, but not yet into work.
It is well worth reading the issues here and reflecting on how important it becomes to support lone parents into sustainable long term jobs with real prospects.
